The NTA-NCGR (NTA) is a Chapter association of both astrological professionals and novices who desire to share their talents with each other and with the community. Many of our members have years of astrological experience, providing a wealth of knowledge and the ability to answer most astrological questions. Based in the Southeastern United States, the NTA's purpose continues as a non-profit educational chapter, providing benefits for your own studies and professionalism locally, while participating internationally as a vibrant Chapter of the acclaimed NCGR--the premiere astrological organization worldwide.
The National Council for Geocosmic Research, Inc., (NCGR) is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising the standards of astrological education and research. Though it began as "national," NCGR's current membership of about 2500 includes a growing number of international members. The organization's activities include sponsoring local Chapters across the US and several countries). Additionally, several Special Interest Groups (SIGs) cross wide geographical areas to foster dialogue among people of similar astrological specialties.

At the moment, the majority of astrologers still believe that there are two very different approaches to practicing astrology: the traditional way or the modern way. The truth is that there is a new paradigm emerging and spreading throughout the community and that is a blended version which attempts to use the best of both worlds. A technique that honors the advancements discovered through the research of both classical writings, and modern psychology. This blended model is already used by many top astrologers who are also promoting it, including: Demetra George, Maria Mateus, Gary Caton, and the world renowned Robert Hand.
Come down for an informative and eye-opening look at how viewing a chart through the traditional lens can vastly improve your chart delineations. Bring your own chart and see how quickly you will discover new things about yourself!
Topics covered include:
- Historical overview of the Classical Revival of Astrology
- The different Schools of thought: Hellenistic to Medieval to Vedic
- House systems: Sign Rulership, Planetary Strength, Sect and Dignity
- The Chart Ruler known as the Hour-Marker, or the Helmsman
- What the Parts of Fortune and Spirit actually say about a Chart
Chris is a local professional astrologer who is the chapter’s Treasurer and Education Coordinator. He recently graduated with a full diploma from the International Academy of Astrology, and is currently in process of attaining his NCGR Level 4 certification. Chris is about to graduate from Chris Brennan’s Hellenistic Astrology Course, has taken workshops on Evolutionary Astrology with Steven Forrest, and completed Robert Hand’s multiple course primer on Modern-Traditional fusion.
